Saponin Aesculin - Product Introduction

What Is Aesculin Powder?

Saponin Aesculin is a natural compound extracted from Aesculus chinensis, commonly known as the Chinese horse chestnut. It is a type of triterpene saponin with a molecular formula of C55H86O24 and a molecular weight of 1131.26 g/mol. It is known for its various therapeutic properties and is widely used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

Aesculin, also called Esculin Hyrate, it is a coumarin glucoside that naturally occurs in the horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum), California Buckeye (Aesculus californica), Prickly Box (Bursaria spinosa) and in daphnin (the dark green resin of Daphne mezereum). Esculin can also be found in dandelion coffee.

Aesculin powder is a coumarin compound extracted from the dried branch bark or bark of the Ash tree of the family Oleaceae. It is a white crystalline powder at room temperature and has a slightly bitter smell. Aesculin also has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anticoagulant, analgesic, diuretic and other effects.

Both Aesculin and Aescin are used in homeopathic medicine. Aesculin is used to thin the blood improving its viscosity aiding its passage back to the heart. Used in conjunction with Aescin which decreases permeability of the veins to fluids is used to treat the potentially but, in most cases, just painful "Varicose Veins" and Haemorrhoids. This is a useful medication therefore in relieving the pain and appearance, and prevent possible clotting and blocking of veins (may have then occasionally lead to stroke or heart problems). Other natural extracts ("tonic herbs") are then added in addition to the other compunds present in horse chestnut (flavinoids, glycosides, saponins), to soothe and aid healing. Aesculin and Aescin are used in a wider range of homeopathic treatments.
