1. Product Introduction

Organic Yucca Extract is made from 100% natural yucca extract from the plant Yucca Schidigera. 

Yuccas are common garden plants with pointed leaves. It is a perennial shrub plant native to Central America. This plant is usually used as an ornamental plant but the root of the plant can also be consumed. Yucca leaves have been used since long ago by people native to America especially Athabaskan people to make rope, thread, and baskets while yucca root has been used for culinary and medicinal purposes. The name yucca derived from Carribean word for cassava. That is why some people are getting confused about the difference between yucca and yuca which is known as cassava.

Yucca has other names such as Spanish Bayonet, Guardian Of The Desert, Needle Palm, Soapweed, Lord’s Candle, and The Joshua Tree. The common name “Yucca” includes more than 40 species such as Yucca glauca, Yucca baccata, and other Yucca species, which are used interchangeably with Yucca filamentosa.

Yucca contains a high number of carbohydrates and some amounts of bioactive substances, such as Vitamin A, Vitamin B complex, Vitamin C, calcium, copper, phosphorus, potassium, and manganese. The main active chemical component of yucca is saponin. Saponin is a natural steroid found in yucca usually used to create foam and make shampoo. Saponin is also well known as an outside and inside cleaner. People know that the yucca plant can help to sanitize and clean the environment by getting rid of waste and microorganisms. Since they know that they also contain saponin that can clean from the inside, people start to consume yucca roots. ① Great to Add to Foliar Sprays

Surfactants like yucca extracts are great to add to foliar sprays. Water is a polar molecule; it holds a small positive charge on one side of the water molecule and a negative charge on the other. That’s why water beads up on a waxy surface. But the natural saponins in yucca extracts depolarise the water molecule, allowing foliar sprays to spread out more evenly on the waxy leaf surface. The thin film that is created covers a greater surface area on the leaf for better and more even absorption by the plant cells.
